In the initial client meeting i think i was as prepared as i could be, i had a list of questions to ask and considering i had no idea what to expect never being in a situation like that i think it went ok.
Carl Gibbs, the client was very enthusiastic, he was prepared in that he knew what he wanted but not how to explain it and then kept changing his mind. He was extremely keen on keeping with the 'theme" or images he has incorporated on his business cards and work vehicles. I wouldn't say he was relying on our suggestions as much as he was open to them because he had an idea of what he wanted, we just had to make it happen.
Yes, i believe both Chris and i behaved in a very professional manner, especially in what we said to Carl and how we said it, we didn't want to promise something we couldn't deliver but without saying no straight up, we always said we would discuss it and remind him we are students.
I think at the start we weren't very firm because we didn't have to be, he wanted a simple brochure website that was easy to navigate and promoted his work. Now i believe we have to be a bit firm as he is getting a bit carried away. We explained that he is our first website and client situation and that we are students being marked.
Yes very much so at the beginning, i don't know why maybe because he is my first client and i didn't want to upset him because i am being marked but also he can give me a bad reputation and i don't want to get in over my head as this is not a paying job. However now after talking to him for a bit and kind of understanding him i'm not now.
I don't believe that he was intimidated by me or Chris, he talked alot and being a boss i think he deals with people all the time, i don't think it's good for business to be intimidated.
Carl wants a simple brochure website, which is user friendly, with his logo/theme incorporated through it. He is very set on using his images/themes and i don't think we can change his mind on that, this is the challenge and i will try and come up with the best solution.
